November 27, 2020 – Marina Matiss, the Indie-pop artist from Spain, has just lit the beach with the fire of love, longing, and renewed hope. Marina’s latest single video, “El Perdón” has hit a fresh chord with music fans and gone mainstream. Produced along with Arthur Pingrey, famous for his work with Sting and SIA, this video is a must-watch.

Alluring, captivating, with a fresh and raw appeal, these are just a few words that come to mind while watching “El Perdón”. The song is about lost love, letting go, and starting a new life afresh, for there is always hope and freedom. The play of shadows, the mesmerizing figure of Marina, and the beach views are simply out of this world. The finale, with the burning piano on the beach, makes this an unforgettable song.

Watch and listen to “El Perdón”:

“This is the first song I wrote in Spanish, but I was writing it after a difficult breakup. The melody and lyrics simply came to me in this way, and I had no right to change it,” says Marina.

The behind-the-scenes story of the making of the video is equally fascinating. The team had all the necessary permissions and was aware of the rule of not burning anything on the beach. When the police arrived, they thought they’d all be arrested, and just when they began to explain, the police interrupted them saying they just wanted to take a photograph of the burning piano, as it was the most beautiful thing they had ever seen! For the record, though the fire was real, a smart trick ensured the piano did not burn. The police officers have become fans too, and have subscribed to the channel.

Based out of Barcelona, Marina Matiss first tasted fame with her debut single, “Phoboslight” in 2020. Matiss is fluent in many languages and speaks Spanish, German, English, and Russian. She writes her lyrics in English, and her favorite themes are love, dreams, and big ideas. Fans can get a taste of her feelings and emotions in her songs, all of which share important messages with great artistic finesse.
